  • What about church for my kids?

We want to ensure that your children still have an opportunity to learn and worship while at home. Here at The Refinery, we utilize two incredible curriculums for our kids. We use “The Bible App for Kids” curriculum from Life.Church in our Three-Five year old classroom and the “Konnect” curriculum from Life.Church in our Kinder-5th Grade classrooms.

  • What about Refinery Student services?

Here’s our weekly Refinery Students Newsletter.

We want to ensure that your middle school and high school students still have an opportunity to learn and worship while at home. Refinery Student Ministry will be utilizing a couple of different and new online platforms to help us interact and stay connected with you and your student in the weeks to come. Our prayer is that our Student Ministry will continue to flourish and grow through this season, but we will need your continued support and partnership in this as well.

Join us for Refinery Students Online every Sunday at 4pm. We would love for you to watch the message and interact with us along with your Student this Sunday. Visit therefinerycc.online.church.

We will run our Huddle groups through the Zoom App at zoom.us. Once the live broadcast is finished we will ask that all students join us on Zoom. Your student will need a code to log into Zoom for their specific huddle group. The codes will be made available in Thursday’s Church at Home Resource Guide, but I will also be sharing those links on the Parent Facebook Page and our Student Instagram.

As another resource, we have included a fun, family app to help navigate some good conversation and discussion with your students. We used this app at CIY camp last summer to do our small group sessions, so your Student may be familiar with it already! To get the app, go to your app store on your phone or mobile device, search for and download the CIY CONVOS App. The Group Code you will use is “Family”.

I encourage you to dive in, be intentional and draw closer to your student during these times. If you have any questions or concerns, I am here for you and your family! Please feel free to reach out to me via email. I would love to come along side of you and family during this time.

    Refinery Students Pastor, Blake Gunter

  • How do I participate in communion?

Taking communion together has been an important and impactful element of our worship services since day one at The Refinery. We set aside a few moments of every LIVE, ANYWHERE, and ONLINE service for communion and we hope that you will continue in this practice at home.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:26-28 NIV Read the whole chapter.

Jesus’ last meal with His disciples took place during the celebration of Passover. This began the tradition of communion. He instructed His followers to use bread and wine to remember the sacrifice He was going to make when He died for our sins on the cross. The bread represents his broken body and the wine represents his blood that was shed. Remember that they are symbols. You don’t have to use a specific type of bread or juice – use whatever you have.

Communion is a time to connect, not only with the Lord who saved us, but also with other Christians. As a body of believers, we find comfort and support, just as the disciples and the early church did.

Communion is a time to Celebrate who God Is, what He did for us by sending His son to die on the cross for our sins, and what He continues to do for us, in us, and through us, through the power of His Holy Spirit!

BRIGHTEN SOMEONE’S DAY by sending a note of encouragement.

One of our Core Values at The Refinery is based on Luke 5:19.

When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. Read the whole chapter HERE.

We are going to WRECK THE ROOF – We will use Creativity and Innovation!
