1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how The Refinery Christian Church collects, uses, and protects personal information through the The Refinery Christian Church Parent+ App (“the App”), which operates using technology licensed from Amazing Life Foundation, a nonprofit based in Collin County, Texas. By using the App, you consent to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide Directly

• Name, email address, and optional phone number when creating an account or contacting us.
• Submissions through in-app forms (e.g., volunteer sign-ups, messages, prayer requests).

b. Information Collected Automatically

• Device type, operating system, and App version.
• Usage data (pages viewed, session times, crash logs).
• Approximate location (city or region only).

c. Information from Amazing Life Foundation

Amazing Life may provide aggregate analytics to your church to improve App performance. Amazing Life does not sell or use user data for advertising.

3. How We Use Information

• Deliver and personalize content and features.
• Send updates or notifications you request.
• Improve security and technical performance.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We never sell or rent personal information.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

We process data on the basis of consent, legitimate interests (in ministry and communications), and legal compliance.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is family-oriented and used under parental guidance. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us at info@therefinerycc.com for deletion.

6. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on secure servers operated by Amazing Life or its authorized providers. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Sharing

We may share information only with:

• Amazing Life Foundation (for hosting and support);
• Trusted vendors under confidentiality agreements;
• Authorities when required by law.

We do not permit third-party tracking for advertising purposes.

8. Data Retention

Data is stored in the United States. By using the App outside the U.S., you consent to that transfer and processing.

Third-party links may appear in the App. We are not responsible for their content or privacy policies.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Revisions take effect when posted in the App or on our website.

TERMS OF USE

Article 1 – General Scope and Acceptance

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the use of the mobile application The Refinery Christian Church Parent+ App (“the App”), which is operated by The Refinery Christian Church (“we,” “our,” or “us”) under license from Amazing Life Foundation (“Amazing Life”), the provider of the underlying technology and content.

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms without limitation or reservation. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

We may modify or update these Terms at any time. Updates will become effective immediately upon posting within the App or on our website.

You represent that you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence or have consent from a parent or legal guardian to use the App. You agree not to use the App for any unlawful, harmful, or unauthorized purpose, including attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfere with systems, or transmit viruses.

Article 2 – Content and Intellectual Property

All content provided through the App—including text, graphics, audio, video, lesson materials, and other media—is licensed to your church by Amazing Life Foundation.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use this content for your personal, non-commercial purposes in connection with your participation in your church’s ministries.

All materials are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or publicly display any materials except as explicitly permitted by your church or Amazing Life.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Amazing Life Foundation.

Article 3 – Accounts and Registration

Certain features may require you to create an account or log in. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities under your account.

Your use of the App is also subject to our [Privacy Policy link], which explains how data is collected, used, and shared.

Article 4 – User Conduct and Uploaded Content

If you upload, post, or submit content within the App (such as comments, photos, or messages), you affirm that you have the rights to do so and that your content does not:

• Infringe any copyright, trademark, or privacy right;
• Contain unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or threatening material;
• Promote hate speech, harassment, or discrimination.

We reserve the right to remove user-generated content and/or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

You grant The Refinery Christian Church and Amazing Life a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, and display such content solely for purposes related to App functionality.

Article 5 – Third-Party Links and Services

The App may include links or integrations with third-party websites or services (including Apple or Google in-app purchase systems). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or policies of any third-party services. Your use of those services is at your own risk and subject to the terms of the third party.

Article 6 – Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. Neither The Refinery Christian Church nor Amazing Life guarantees uninterrupted service, accuracy, or completeness of information.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither The Refinery Christian Church nor Amazing Life (including their officers, employees, volunteers, or agents) will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App.

Article 7 – Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Refinery Christian Church, Amazing Life Foundation, and their respective officers, employees, and affiliates from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Article 8 – Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and indemnification) shall remain in effect.

Article 9 – Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas (Collin County) and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Collin County, Texas.

Article 11 – Entire Agreement and Severability
