Meet The Women's Ministry Team

Meet Ruby Kedney

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and our family moved to Southern California when I was just two years old to plant a church. I grew up in Southern California and spent a few years in Arizona. Now I live in Los Angeles with my husband, Cole, and our goldendoodle pup, Champ, who goes almost everywhere with us.

I am a pastor on staff at Shepherd Church in LA, where I lead our Next Steps program and teach regularly at our mid-week Thursday service and at our other campuses. I am passionate about the local church and helping people take their next steps in their faith journey. I especially love pouring into young women and empowering them to discover and use their God-given gifts to lead and build the local church and be all that God has called them to be. 

I have been married for 7 years to my favorite guy, Cole Kedney. We have a pretty awesome love story! We met at the wedding of Paden Goucher, the son of Chad and Malisa Goucher. Chad is the Lead Pastor of The Refinery Christian Church, and Paden’s sister, Peri, is one of my best friends. Cole was a groomsman, and I was attending with Peri. Malisa was trying to set me and Cole up at the wedding. We hit it off, and a few months later we started dating long distance—me in California and Cole in Kansas City. We would fly back and forth to see each other every month for about a year and a half until we got engaged. Then Chad officiated our wedding ceremony, which was so special! So, we owe a lot to the Goucher fam for setting us up!

Meet Rene Clark

I live in Huntington Beach, California (Orange County) currently, but I have lived a lot of different places, including Phoenix! Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, California, and Arizona.

I have been married for 36 years to Todd Clark, and we have two amazing kids who are all grown up and out of the house. Cole is passionate about film and music, and he is dating a very sweet girl named Sophia. Ruby is passionate about life! and Taylor Swift and reading novels and being creative, but mostly she’s passionate about Jesus. She’s married to a pretty awesome guy named Cole. We also have a very passionate Goldendoodle named Rainbow. 

I am passionate about leadership roles for women in the church as well as studying and teaching the Bible. I get to serve at my local church as a volunteer in the Women’s Ministry and in Next Steps, empowering people to take steps toward God. 

The work I get to do as a Certified Personal Coach is so fulfilling. I coach women one on one, helping them to find clarity in big life decisions as well as confidence in day to day life and work. I also work alongside my husband, Todd, coaching couples to close the gap between present and possible.
