Hi, I’m Rachel Guernsey. I grew up in Willcox, AZ, and moved to Phoenix for college, where I attended Grand Canyon University. I’ve been married for 23 years to Mike, an amazing man of God, and we have two wonderful daughters. We’re currently learning the joys (and adventures!) of raising a pre-teen and a teenager. We’re also a big animal-loving family with two cats, Tiger and Tuna, and two dogs, Tango and Winnie!

We’ve been attending The Refinery for 12 years, and it has truly become home for our family.

After joining a Life Group, I realized just how much I enjoy connecting with other women in those settings and sharing life together. I said yes to being a part of the Women’s Ministry Team because I genuinely love women and have a heart for seeing women know Jesus more deeply and know they don’t have to walk through life alone. I’m also a total nerd, so I love learning random history and little details and having an excuse to share all the things I’m learning! 😊 Ultimately, I’m excited about creating spaces where women can build genuine relationships, grow in their faith, and encourage one another as they follow Jesus.

I’m most excited about seeing women come together and go deeper—not just during the conference, but in their relationship with Jesus and with one another. I really believe that when we begin intentionally walking with Jesus and walking alongside one another, so many beautiful things can grow from that. I’m praying Unshaken becomes more than just a weekend—it becomes a catalyst for lasting change and deeper community among the women of Refinery.

There’s always a next step: I’m naturally an introvert, so I feel like God is challenging me to step outside of my comfort zone by being more intentional about connecting with, walking in discipleship with, and investing in other women at Refinery. It can be easy for me to stay in my own little circle, but I know God has called us to community, and I want to be willing to step outside of what feels comfortable, build deeper relationships, and allow God to use me to encourage, support, and invest in other women.
